Steff and Mike got married today at The Kings Chapel, Old Amersham. The Kings Chapel is a former school and is an unusual builidng with it’s large domed ceiling and two tier seating. The couple had put a great deal of effort in to the organisation; they had personalised the wedding venue beautifully and there were lots of lovely details to photograph.
A winter wedding is always special, the warmth and cosiness inside at this time of year is lovely and makes for a great party atmosphere. Steff and Mike are such a happy couple, very patient running up and down the High Street with me for photographs :) and I could see they enjoyed the day and the evening party greatly.
Like all weddings the time flew by but from my point of view, everyone had a fantastic time. They had a great band in the evening which got everyone up on the dance floor and a steel band during the drinks reception. A lovely wedding in a unique venue.
Some favourite images:

Over to the Kings Hotel town house to photograph Steff and the girls.
Steff’s dad walks her over to the Kings Chapel.
Good to see that Mike had a plan B if Steff didn’t turn up.
The ceremony begins.
The painted pebbles on the floor were a lovely touch.
The ceremony starts on the raised platform which meant that all the guests had a great view.
It was great that Steff and Mike were OK with going outside for photographs. I wouldn’t have blamed them if they stayed inside in the warm :) Luckily the rain had stopped by then and it was nice to use a couple of different locations around the Kings Chapel and in Old Amersham for some informal wedding portraits.
Back inside the chapel and been laid out for the wedding meal. With the high ceiling, it made for a lovely spacious place for the celebrations.
Mike and Best Man Neil giving it some well on the steel drums.
In to the wedding breakfast.
Being a Christmas wedding, the bride and groom had organised individually wrapped gifts for all the guests. A lovely idea that was well received.
I’m guessing alcohol was involved at this stage.
First dance time.
Thanks again Steff and Mike. I hope the honeymoon was a great success (‘m sure it was) and a have a brilliant Christmas!
