The Elvetham Hotel – A Unique Hampshire Wedding Venue
The Elvetham Hotel, near Hartney Wintney is one of my top 5 Hampshire wedding venues. If you haven’t had the pleasure of visiting it has a long an ancient history. The current mansion house was built in 1860 on the site of the old house which had been there since the 15th Century. It’s owned by the Dare family who also own the Petersham Hotel in Richmond. One of the great things about The Elvetham Hotel is the wonderful gardens. Covering some 35 acres, they are laid out in much the same way as they were recorded in the Domesday book. This sense of history is carried over into the house and also the little church of St. Mary’s which was built in the 19th Century in the style of an old Norman church.
The best thing about The Elvetham Hotel
The best thing about The Elvetham is possibly the beautiful interiors. Described by some as Gothic in style, lovely, high-ceilinged public rooms are cosy and welcoming, particularly in the colder months. Open fires and comfortable sofas and furnishings make it a lovely place for an informal wedding reception or celebration. You can get married in the Oak Room with seating for around 120. You can see some images of the Oak Room during a wedding ceremony below. The summerhouse is another venue for small outdoor weddings. Whether you get married at the hotel or elsewhere, you can book the venue exclusively which is lovely for your wedding guests to enjoy.
If you are holding your wedding at The Elvetham, please get in touch and I would be delighted to show you some more wedding photographs from this beautiful Berkshire venue.
I only accept a total of 20 wedding bookings a year so please call 0118 9885088 to check availability.
