Silchester House –  A Lovely ‘all in one’ Berkshire Wedding Venue

silchester-house-wedding-photography-001Silchester House near Reading is one of my top 5 Berkshire wedding venues. It’s a beautiful Victorian mansion house, set amongst the wooded countryside of Berkshire and available for exclusive use. You can have up to 150 guests attend your wedding at Silchester House. It’s great for kids as well as there is leaslenty of enclosed space to run around and burn off their excess energy.

The West Wing of the house dates from the 1600’s and you can see the elements of architecture from that time. The gardens are landscaped and look fantastic in the warmer months.

Silchester House was modernised and extended in the 1920’s (especially for a birthday party apparently) and is one of those cosy wedding venues that still has plenty of room for you and your wedding guests.

The best thing about Silchester House

The best thing about Silchester House in my view is the fact that it’s an exclusive hire wedding venue. There’s no bumping into total strangers in the bar or having other people wandering around during your reception. Similarly with Silchester House’s sister venue – Cain Manor – this creates a really nice atmosphere for the wedding.

A lot of guests treat the event like a mini holiday, staying in one of the houses 13 bedrooms and enjoying the facilities that it offers.

If you are holding your wedding at Silchester House, please get in touch and I would be delighted to show you some more wedding photographs from this beautiful Berkshire venue.

I only accept a total of 20 wedding bookings a year so please call 0118 9885088 to check availability.
