Armin and Shirley got married today at Dulwich Picture Gallery in south London. Shirley is from Colombia and Armin’s family hails from Iran and with the unusual setting they had chosen for the nuptials it was a great wedding, very interesting to photograph. It also helps of course that everyone was very friendly and laid back. The Dulwich Picture Gallery is an unusual place for a wedding reception, take a look below!
Here’s some favourite images of the day. I started off photographing at Shirley and Armin’s house not far from the reception.
The girls!
A couple of favourite images of Armin.
The humanist wedding ceremony in the Linley Room
A guest zooms in on the beautiful bride.
After the humanist wedding ceremony, the registrars do their thing. I like the empty room (the guests are outside) as the couple and their parents run through the civil ceremony and the legal side of things.
A small wedding guest.
The brand new Mr. and Mrs.
Sheet Music? That’s so 2009.
I love the cake. That’s one huge chocolate slab.
Ever get the feeling you’re being watched?
I know everything there is to know about art but haven’t got a clue what I like.
Yeah I know, get a room…
This is the ‘Kalleh Ghand’ Persian wedding custom of grinding sugar above the bride and grooms heads to symbolise sweetness and happiness.
Shirley and Armin are touring Scotland for their honeymoon and the complete gallery will be uploaded on their return. Click here if you would like to know when that happens.
