Winter weddings are always interesting for a photographer because the conditions are always a little unpredictable. The weather and the all-important lighting conditions can change very fast this time of year. In my opinion this is where an experienced wedding photographer is at his or her best. It’s always great to have a plan of course but things can change quickly on the day when the luxury of time is not necessarily there. It’s important I think for the photographer to be able to adapt quickly when necessary.
Anna and Paddy’s wedding at Riverdale Barn near Yateley went off without a hitch I am pleased to say. There is plenty of room inside this purpose built wedding venue for the guests to hide from the rain at this time of year. It’s a beautiful place to get married. Both the ceremony room and the room for the meal are huge, plenty of ceiling height and some interesting features for taking wedding photographs such as the balconies in both rooms. These give some interesting viewpoints of both the wedding ceremony and the meal.
The bride and groom were lovely – very easy going and if Anna had any pre-wedding nerves, she didn’t really let them show. Here are a few wedding photos that caught my eye.
