The thing about winter weddings is that you have no expectations when it comes to the weather. Sometimes, like today, the sky can be blue and although it was still bit brisk outside I was really pleased for Julie and Alan that they had a great day for their wedding in Newport Pagnell.
I’d photographed friends of the bride and groom Darren and Jo, at their Hampden House wedding a while back and they were kind enough to recommend me to Julie and Alan. It was nice to see some familiar faces today. The bride and groom both had grown up children who were their with their families and it was a pleasure to see everyone together today. Everyone was great to work with and Julie and Alan couldn’t have been more friendly.
The wedding preparations took place at Harben House, a De Vere venue on the edge of town. I photographed Julie and her daughters there before moving on to St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church in the middle of Newport Pagnell. It was back to Harben House for the terrific wedding reception.
Whilst the bride and groom are enjoying their Florida honeymoon, here’s a few favourites from the day.

A few pre-ceremony favourites.
Julie and her Dad arrive at the church.
One of those emotional wedding moments…
3 o’clock and a brand new wedding ring.
I love these moments immediately after the ceremony.
Back to the wedding reception – some images of the friends and family that caught me eye.

The Harben House restaurant was beautifully decorated for the wedding meal.
A couple of photographs of wedding gifts being received. It’s moments like this that are lovely to capture when photographing a wedding. I think they say much more about the connection between families than the posed family photographs.
Thanks again Julie and Alan – have a brilliant time on honeymoon!
Fantastic photo’s
I didn’t expect anything less from you Simon
I am sure my brother Alan and his wife Julie will be delighted.
