When the weather turns a bit gloomy this time of year photographing weddings can be a bit dicey. You’re pretty much expecting less than optimum weather in winter and planning accordingly. I knew ahead of time that whatever the day might throw at us it was going to be a memorable wedding celebration. Kelly and Tim are a great couple, I’ve known Kelly for a quite a few years now and was so pleased when I heard she’d found her soulmate and decided to marry him :)
The Elvetham Hotel is a terrific venue for weddings, situated not far from Hartley Wintney in Hampshire. It’s known for it’s beautiful grounds and cosy, welcoming rooms. It’s a lovely place to photograph a wedding, the staff are low key and professional and I knew everything would go well.
Amazingly the weather was kind that day, not really cold and no rain :) I was so pleased for the couple, we were able to photograph outside, the kids were able to burn off some energy running around outside and it was nice to have some variety with the photography.
Kelly and Tim had a very short break after the wedding before moving off to Switzerland. I do hope these photographs bring back the atmosphere of their lovely wedding day back home in England for many years to come.
At home with the groom and the boys…
The Elvetham Hotel is one of those venues that is wonderful all year round for weddings. The sun is low in the sky at this time of year.
It’s warm and cosy inside the hotel.

Let’s all take a moment to enjoy Kelly’s beautiful wedding dress :)

Here’s a photofilm of the day, including some footage from the ceremony – a slightly different way of remembering the big day. More information about wedding photofilms here.
