Aurelia and Tom got married today at beautiful Syon Park in West London. It was a real pleasure to be present on their special day.The bride and groom and their families couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. Weddings can sometimes be quite complex to organise and to bring the many elements together but Aurelia and Tom were supremely laid back throughout the whole day. Syon House is of course a beautiful and atmospheric wedding reception location and I was really pleased to able to take advantage of the incredible interiors and grounds of Syon House to make some memorable wedding photographs.
The day started in nearby Chiswick with the wedding preparations. I always enjoy photographing this part of the day – like much of the wedding, the morning shoots by so quickly. My goal as always is that the bride and groom remember how they felt on the morning of the wedding when looking through the wedding album many years or decades later. A photojournalistic style of wedding photography helps of course as this style of images lends itself to documenting those little moments that go by so quickly.
As always, here’s a few favourites from the day. I am looking forward to seeing Aurelia and Tom when they get back from (not-Blackpool) and showing them the rest. There are some more on Facebook by the way.

Flowergirl Mariet, she loved her dress. Isn’t she a cutey?
Today’s must-have wedding accessory!
Almost there! Aurelia’s beautifully fitted dress featured a bolero jacket that buttoned to the dress – an unusual style that I hadn’t seen before.

The amazing wedding cake – all the way from Canada. You could smell the coconut from 6 feet away – amazing.
The freshly married Aurelia and Tom.
As a surprise for the guests, the bride and groom organised a Chinese lion dance. This was fantastic to watch although some of the little ones were a bit apprehensive. I photographed the slightly bizarre site of Aurelia shaking hands with a lion. Through his mouth. :)
A couple of wedding reception favourites.
This weeks caption competition….
The food at the wedding reception looked amazing…
Some wedding detail shots as the the sun sets and the warm lighting inside comes through.
The first dance. With borrowed light.
Thanks again Aurelia and Tom. Have a brilliant time in (not Blackpool) and I’ll see you when you get back.
