I was asked by wedding florist Russell New to photograph a beautiful new flower called the ‘Four Seasons Rose’ that he is introducing in to the U.K. wedding market from the growers, Meijer Roses in Holland. I’ve known Russell for many years as his speciality is wedding floristry and we often bump into each other at weddings. The rose was introduced at the Four Seasons Hotel in rural Hampshire and the display was near reception in a beautiful white corridor with plenty of natural light. During the time I was there, so many people stopped to comment on the display.
I’ll be the first to admit that my knowledge of wedding flowers is basic to say the least (I love the look of a decent flower arrangement, just no idea about the flowers involved!) but I was impressed by this new rose. They’re quite huge compared to ‘normal’ roses and have a delicate ivory colour tinged with green at the edges. I think it’s a colour that would be versatile and tone nicely with a lot of wedding themes.
If you’re interested in bringing something of this amazing floral creation to your own wedding next year, visit Russell’s website here.
It was a pleasure to photograph the amazing flower arrangement Russell created (500 roses were used) and I also shot a little video to help promote this new flower into the UK wedding market.
